Why Doesn't My Libra Match the Elevator?
A few percent between the cart and the elevator ticket is one of the most common Libra calls. Here is what to check before you change anything.

Compare the right numbers
- Compare the elevator's wet weight with the saved load in the app, not the number on the live screen.
- Compare pounds with pounds. Bushels depend on the test weight set for the crop.
Check the crop settings
- Bushels use the test weight; dry weight uses the moisture and the crop's standard moisture. One customer was 4% under the elevator only because his soybeans were set to 60 lb/bu and the elevator used 55.5. See moisture, temperature and test weight.
- Dry weight = wet weight × (100 − moisture) ÷ (100 − standard moisture).
Calibrate properly - once
- Zero the empty cart, fill it, dump it into a truck and weigh that truck on a certified scale. Enter the ticket and the Libra reading. See calibration.
- A new calibration only changes loads from then on. Fix earlier loads by editing them, or in the spreadsheet.
- About 1% is a normal accuracy for a grain cart scale - roughly 600 lb on a 60,000 lb load.
Don't keep calibrating. If the error changes from load to load, or the calibration factor keeps creeping, something on the cart is failing. Run the 60-second test.
