Libra Cart: What's Normal and What Isn't
Some things a Libra does look like faults but aren't. A few things look minor and are worth checking.
Draft - not yet approved
Normal
- The weight moves while you drive. Bumps and slopes move it. Loads are recorded when you unload, and smoothing calms the display.
- Steerable axle carts swing a few hundred pounds when moving. That is the design, not a bad bar.
- A spike when the tongue or hitch bumps the ground. Smoothing on and a higher minimum load stop it becoming a fake load.
- The light inside the box only flashes every 8 to 12 seconds. Slow is normal.
- Huge numbers with the main cable unplugged. That is how a healthy box behaves - see the 60-second test.
Worth a look
- It jumps by thousands of pounds with the cart sitting still. Cable, connector, junction box or a bar. Start here.
- It goes wild after rain or washing. A wet connector. Dry it and test again.
- It won't go back to zero after unloading. Zero the empty cart; if it keeps happening, check the bars.
- Loads stop recording. Usually a setting: auto unload off, minimum load set too high, target mode on, an old season selected, or the iPad went to sleep. See automatic unload detection.
- The calibration factor keeps creeping. Something is failing. Stop calibrating and find it.
